TEXAS - Bridge City - Bridge City High School Literary Competition Honors - December 2009

Bridge City High School recently competed at the Nederland Winter Bulldog Classic Meet.

The following are the results from this contest:

Informative Speaking - Jake Dionne placed 1st and Blake Martin placed 3rd;

Persuasive Speaking - Cody Banken placed 1st, Melina Ledezma placed 2nd, Miranda Long placed 3rd, and Eric Mummey placed 4th.

The Informative Speaking team of Jake Dionne and Blake Martin took 1st place and the Persuasive Speaking team of Cody Banken, Melina Ledezma, Miranda Long, and Eric Mummey placed 1st. In CX Debate, the team of Jake Dionne and Cody Banken took 1st place and the team of Jason Broussard and Jacob Worthington placed 4th.

In Literary Criticism, Jordan Smith placed 1st, Haley Beall placed 2nd, Shanna Miller placed 3rd, and Sam Placette placed 4th.

In Ready Writing, Sam Placette placed 1st and Luke Hebert placed 4th.

In Accounting, Jessica Kelly took 4th place and Meredith Miller took 5th place.

The Accounting team of Jessica Kelly, Meredith Miller, and Kelly Royal placed 1st.

The sponsor for Accounting is Rene Danna.

In Mathematics - Jessica Kelly placed 5th; Number Sense - Jacob Howard placed 4th and Jessica Kelly placed 6th; Calculator Applications - Jessica Kelly placed 1st and Jacob Howard placed 2nd.

The sponsor for these events is Leslie Stegemoller.

In Current Events, Melina Ledezma placed 6th.

In Social Studies, Tanner Royal placed 4th and Kinsey Arnaud placed 6th.

The Social Studies team of Tanner Royal, Kinsey Arnaud, Kelly Royal, and Jennifer Tran placed 2nd.

The sponsor for these events is Don Miller.

Bridge City was able to bring home the 1st Place Sweepstakes Award for this tournament.
