Breckinridge County High School conducted graduation exercises in Tiger Arena in Harned on May 27, 1998. Graduating seniors wore yellow ribbons in memory of their classmate, Angie Claycomb, who died during the year. Diplomas were awarded to 174 graduates by principal Robert Cox at the conclusion of the activities.
The valedictory address was given by Robert Norton. Scott Pile and Darrin Pollock addressed the group as co-salutatorians. The superintendent's message was given by Superintendent Wayne Puckett. Eighty-five graduates who scored either distinguished or proficient in the final KIRIS testing were presented KIRIS Scholars certificates.
Faculty members were presented with Service in Education Awards: Joellen McGary, 10 years, David Kinsey, Ronnie Marshall, Patti Patton and Kent Sanders, 20 years, and Wanda Tate, 25 years. Principal Rob Cox was given special recognition as he completed 20 years in that position.
Following the ceremonies, Project Graduation was held in the school.
