Thirty-four receive diplomas at CHS Graduation
A large number of friends and family members turned out Friday night, May 14, to watch 33 Carlisle High School seniors and one junior receive their diplomas. The ceremony was held in the Raymond H. Brown Gymnasium.
Of the 33 graduating seniors, 11 were honor graduates.
Leslie Michelle Landers and Lauren Renee Wilson were the Valedictorians and Matthew Charles Peoples was the Salutatorian.
Landers and Wilson graduated with highest honors.
Graduating with high honors were Matthew Charles Peoples, Courtney Ann Campbell and Melissa Suzanne Miller.
Graduating with honors were Brandi Jay Glasco, Carlzetta Renee Hadley, Kyle Matthew Ingle, Jennifer Nicole Linder, Racheal Christine Rollins and Rachel Michelle Watson.
Other graduates were Jeffery Marshall Chadwick, Cyle Ramone Cooney, Cole Buchanan Elder, Brandon Gene Hasley, Andrea Michelle Hunt, James Micah Jacobs, Terry Alan Daniel Lee, Letha Marie Littleton, Garrett Elmore Loftis, Jeremy Tremaine McClain, Tracey Nicole Miles, Heather Denise Mitchell, Samantha Ann Nealey, Keith Michael Pasley, Michael Dawayne Peoples, Wesley Deshawn Powell, Lindsay Nicole Scott, Patrick Wade Shownes, Joseph George Thrift, Aaron Michael White, Gary Alan Wilson and Dorthey LeAnn Woodall.
The graduating junior was William Harrison Litwa.
The seniors marched in to the traditional Pomp and Circumstance.
Garrett Elmore Loftis gave the invocation and the group was welcomed by Courtney Ann Campbell.
Valedictorian Leslie Michelle Landers topic for her speech to her classmates and guests was They Said it Could Never Be Done.
Valedictorian Lauren Renee Wilson spoke on, A Time for Everything.
Salutatorian Matthew Charles Peoples subject was, The Shaping of our Futures.
Superintendent Dr. Ron Wilson and Danny Ebbs, principal, presented the class for graduation.
Terry McCallie, president of the Board of Education, presented the diplomas to the graduates.
At the conclusion of the ceremony the class of 2003 sang the school Alma Mater.
Serving as ushers for the event were National Senior Honor Society members, Kimberly Dawn Crow, Kristin Michelle Moore, Kelly Lee Qualls, Dornita Lashell Rogers, Steven Ray Wagner, Tiffany Erin Way and Tyler Jay Reed.
