College Honors
Southwest Missouri honors local students

James Fields and Kristopher Wiles, both of Independence, were named to the honor roll for the summer 1998 term at Southwest Missouri State University.

Students named to the list earned at least a 3.5 grade point average and completed at least six credit hours during the term.

College Graduations

Local students earn Wichita State degrees

Kathryn Cady and Elizabeth Gatson, both of Independence, received degrees following the spring 1998 semester at Wichita State University in Wichita, Kan.

Cady was graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree.

Gatson received a master of education degree.
